Moving away from the overly commercial, “safe” workplace portraits. REVOLUT is a vibrant, young, energetic, disruptive company - on the cutting edge of tech. The portraits should capture the contemporary, diverse workforce, in a visually engaging manner.

PHOTOGRAPHY NOTES

Preparation is they - it’s important to liaise WITH the employee being photographed.

Employee should arrived groomed. Hair cut, (shaved,) make up (if worn) nails clipped, etc.

Clean clothes. Ironed if possible. Block colours work well.

Details are important and go a long way, in impacting overall quality of content.

There is no embarrassment, or self consciousness in being “camera ready,” we’re creating an aspirational image.

A short email with a few pointers should be sent to each employee before shoot day. Nothing major. Just come as your best presented self.

Emotive + Informative + KINETIC

The idea is to show personality + FUN + ENERGY + LOVE OF THE JOB.

Main interview is a series of 10 pre determined questions.

vIDEO ONE NOTES

It’s imperative we give the questions to the employee, with ample time for them to become comfortable with the questions and their answers.

They should be encouraged to rehearse their answers, not to a state of robotic delivery, but enough to ensure a confident delivery, which can be repeated through multiple takes.

Familiarity with the material, builds confidence.

We use jump cuts to mask performance, allows us to “cut out” unusable material, while creating a purposeful edit.

The jump cuts in turn will create energy, a sense of fun and an approachable aesthetic - while keeping the video “cool” + contemporary + engaging.

Lighting for videos will be a single - directional source, to mirror the photography, giving a sense of immediacy to the films.

vIDEO TWO NOTES

Answers will be delivered direct to camera.

The jump cuts create an ease of delivery. Keeps the delivery sharp, engaging.

Limited, but well placed use of B roll, an effective tool to build connection and levity.

Lighting for videos will be a single - directional source, to mirror the photography, giving a sense of immediacy to the films.

Single Camera. Sound will be recorded directly to source.

Directional MIC, with XLR cable, ensuring optimal sound.

It’s imperative we capture clean sync audio, filmed in a suitably quiet location.


b roll

B Roll will consist of a series of pre shot STILL IMAGES, used effectively through out the short film.

As well as non speaking “cutaways” creating a sense of personality and of the personal.

 

STILL IMAGES WILL BE IN COLOUR + RELAXED + IN SITUATION + DOCUMENTARY IN TONE

The questions will be deigned to aid performance.

Easy to digest questions, that promote clear, short, engaging and informative answers.

The questions will not feature in the video, or be heard by the audience, only the answers of the employe.

Questions asked in a manner and sequence, that when cut together will form a single, entertaining, informative narrative.
