Fiona Lamptey held the prestigious role of Director of UK Features at Netflix, where she led the charge in orchestrating the development and production of groundbreaking UK original films.

Curating exceptional works Including the BAFTA-nominated THE WONDER, starring Florence Pugh, the crime thriller I CAME BY by Babak Anvari, and THE KITCHEN a captivating collaboration co-

directed by Daniel Kaluuya and Kibwe Tavares. Additionally, she commissioned and oversaw SCOOP, a gripping retelling of the infamous Prince Andrew interview. 

Credits include FOUR LIONS, ATTACK THE BLOCK, ROOM and Bafta award winning SITTING IN LIMBO.

As founder of Fruit Tree Media, a training and nurturing platform for the next generation of writers/directors,

Fiona discovered & championed talent such as Remi Weekes, Shola Amoo, Ben Aston, Adeyemi Michael and Nadia Latif - a milestone that earned her company the esteemed BFI vision award.

Accolades included Screen Star of Tomorrow award, being recognised as a prominent Black industry leader as part of the inaugural Breaking the Glass Ceiling program

and being a co-opted member of the  Bafta Film committee for a year.

Currently, Fiona holds a pivotal position on the board of RAMBERT, the UK's longest-running dance school, alongside the esteemed Dame Sue Street.

 

 

What does the word creativity mean to you? 

The act of sharing your talent, your passion and purpose.  

 
 

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

I’m slightly obsessed with something I heard recently, by a visionary woman & leader called Caroline Wanga, “don’t let anyone reposition your position without your permission”

What is one thing you found out the hard way?

Discernment is a gift from God! Trust it.

Cindy Holland, because her taste is impeccable and Caroline Wanga for her wisdom.

Tax.

What sound or noise do you love?

Overhearing my kids and my husband, in deep conversation with one another. 

 
 

What brings you joy?

Friends and family. 

What scares you?

I'm scared of heights and small spaces.
