From the biological to the non-biological, from the single-parent father to same-sex couple, the stay-at-home Dad, to the commuter and everything in between.
We want to celebrate and champion fatherhood in all it’s rich diversity.
A series of 20 portraits, photographed by award winning artist Buki Koshoni, the project aims to challenge perceptions, provoke discourse and gain a wider understanding of fatherhood.
APPROACH
The short film will take the form of a series of talking head interviews, intercut with natural moments of fathers and their children. Expressing the vibrant, unique and touching beauty of fatherhood.
Expertly shot and beautifully crafted.
Each Father will be asked a series of questions devised to get “under the skin” of fatherhood such as:
What does the word Father mean to you?
What is the most challenging aspect of Fatherhood you have encountered so far?
If you could only give one piece of advice t your child, what would it be?
The accompanying photo essay will be celebration and exploration of fatherhood, in all its complexities and subtleties.
Images that speak to the unique bond of love, devotion, courage, challenge and joy of fatherhood.

Our aim is to not only create a visually arresting and engaging series of film, but also to achieve a mindful tone that challenges opinion, perspective and dogma.
art direction + short film
THE EXHIBITION
To be held on the ground floor House of KoKo gallery, or a suitable location within the premises.
The ten A1 (33 x 24 inches) framed prints with white mount, printed with museum quality inks on archival paper,and projected short films, will create a breathtaking exhibition.
The individual framed portraits will be sold through auction, to both members of the public and KoKo patrons.
The proceeds shall be split between House of KoKo & The KoKo (charity) Foundation.
STYLING & MAKEUP
Studio based portraits in both colour and black & white
Engaging. Natural. Emotionally Connected.
Selecting from a tonal palette, the carefully selected styling will compliment the studio aesthetic creating strong & endearing portraits.
Working closely with stylists and designers to choose outfits that complement our subject's while also fitting the overall theme of the shoot. This attention to detail ensures that every element of the portrait, from the lighting to the clothing, works together to create a cohesive and striking image.
Studio BUKE, has long established links with London-based, industry leading stylists and fashion PR consultants.
We encourage each portrait subject to bring a one or two items of black clothing, although styling will be provided.

THE SHOOT
A creatively productive environment is our goal, achieved through a laid back, relaxed shoot, with minimal crew.
Each shoot should last no longer than thirty minutes to an hour.
(Depending on the arrived readiness of each portrait subject.)
The team & I, always endeavour to create an informal, yet productive atmosphere onset.
It's important the subjects feel comfortable and at ease. Through mutual collaboration with the Father & son, we can create a portrait that truly captures their unique character.
ASPIRATIONS
Our aim is to celebrate not just the beauty of fatherhood, but to challenge and change perceptions, in the hope of provoking a positive and fruitful discourse.
Our fresh and thought-provoking film, also will work with and build on the inspirational achievements of the selected brand. Thus strengthening both the project and the selected brands position.
